Motionbuilder constraint tool update

hey I’ve updated the parent script I made on this previous post.
Now is more efficient, and it will change the name in the navigator based on the type of constraint (I’ve set it to work only on position, rotation and parent but it’s easy to modify it)  so it will look like this:

hope it helps 🙂

  • Just saw this updated post after i made my last comment.

I really like how the constraint method is now it’s own thing.

It’d be cool to be able to pass in a list for the child/parent kwargs. A dictionary for the constraint_type would also be rad so I could pass in “position” and it would automatically know the constraint type should be 5 etc.

Also, general python stuff, all uppercase variables like CONSTRAINT_TYPE should be reserved for global constants (usually located at the top of the module). CONSTRAINT_TYPE as a kwarg shoudl really just be constraint_type

  • Hey thanks for the script, I used the earlier version, but this one I get an error msg now

    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File “”, line 53, in
File “”, line 10, in constraint
AttributeError: ‘FBModel’ object has no attribute ‘FullName’

Does it only works on new versions of Mobu?

  • Hi Rafel,
I’ve just tried the script on both mobu 2014 and 2016 and it works.
Are you sure you copied all the script and selected both items?
