Motionbuilder parent constraint tool

I’m currently working on the ultimate parent constraint tool for Motionbuilder.
So far the tool is very simple: select the child, select the parent and you have your constraint. In the future I want to add the option to automatically key the weight values before and after a certain range and choose the type of constraint as well.

  • Hey, cool idea.

    For generalization purposes, i’d say take the constraint method out of the parentConstraint method so you can call it from other constraints.

    Also, the weight in the constraint method seems hardset to 100, not using the weight argument passed in.

    In my experience, I’m not always wanting to maintain offsets of things. I’d probably add a kwarg for snapping to the constraint.

    Otherwise, cool start! Can’t wait to see version 2!
